Comics Fantastic
Who has changed the industry of comics comic, and why? Number and year of publication, please?.
Action Comics # 1 yes because it was the first Superhero, Detective Comics # 27 not because Batman has not changed the industry, the success he was. Fantastic Four # 1 yes because it was the first family of superheroes. Avengers # 1 Not because the super-hero team had already been done before.
I'll have to both agree and disagree with Fantastic Four # 1, it is remarkable because it is the first comic Marvel as Jack Kirby and Stan Lee worked together. Stan Lee revolutionized the industry by introducing a humainity its flawed hero. He gave everyday problems and events to be processed. I disagree that it was the First Family superhero to me that distinction belongs to the family Marvel better known as Shazam! Shazam appeared in Whiz Comics # 2 published by Fawcett Comics in 1939 (more than 20 years before FF # 1) Not only do most of Billy Batson family have super powers Shazam was the first superhero ever to be adopted at the cinema in 1941. Th Phantom while not appearing in comic book format was considered the first costumed hero. He appeared in the newspaper comic strip beginning February 17, 1936. Batman may not have changed the industry, but Batman # 426-429 deserve a place on this list. A death in the canvas of the family was the first to get drawn mainstream coverage appearing on talk shows, newspapers and evening news. It also left the fans decide the fate of Robin introducing a system 1-900 to call and vote on how you want the story to end. (Ironically this same system is now used on TV shows like American reality Idol) This list is not exhaustive there are many outstanding comic and it would be difficult to name them all.
