How do I edit a photo and save the edited photo to a new file, but keep the original photo in Picasa?
"I edit my photos Picasa. I can save the edited picture changes, but I want to know how to save the changes and retain the original UNEDITED too.
In Picasa 3 when you edit a picture you can right click on the photo and choose "Save." If you have not changed a photo this option is grayed out. You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + S. This will make a copy of your original file without editing and save a folder named ". picasaoriginals" in the same folder as the. The existing file with the changes is now a duplicate with the same name. You can read about it in all a help file very good restaurant in Picasa. Suggest you give it a good read because it also tells you how cancel that and a bunch of other good things. Once you've made the change to any file in a folder there is also a button that appears at the top right of the folder in Picasa that says "Save to Disk" and below that the number of edited files. If you click this button ALL the files you have edited this file will be saved. In Picasa 2 I think the new record was simply called "Originals."
