Giant Comic
Has anyone heard of the legend of the Green Giant in connection with the burning of gold and a siren. for Hellboy?
I read from a Hellboy comic. I think it is of Scandinavian origin and May will be 3 different legends. The burning gold I think is in connection with King Volmer.
The green giant is a Celtic myth that appears in Arthurian legendry best known, and in others. It is supposed to be a kind of god of the forest. In the Irish version, it is Cu Roi. I have not found a relationship between him and a siren or burning gold. While May is just for the comic. Briefly the Green Knight (or giant) enters the halls of Arthurs and offers a large sum of money to anyone which will cut off his head, on the understanding that the green knihgt can cut the head in a year. The first knight cuts on the head of giants. The body rises takes the lead and removed and replaced. A year later, the giant towers in the knight doesn't. Thus, the same thing happens. The following year, Sir Gawain chops on the head of giants. It goes for a year long quest when he met a husband and wife. The husband says to stay with us, but if my wife gives you everything you need to give it to me. The first night she gave him a tape, which he will deliver. The second night, she gives him a handkerchief which he calls the third night, she gives him a scarf and a kiss. He puts the scarf. The next day, the Green Knight comes to the court. So is Gawain. The Green Giant Hits times with the ax, but diesn't make a mark. He struck again with the ax again failed to score. The third time is just enough to draw blood. Giant stands up and says Gawain won, and he would not have scored at all if he had kept his promise to give him everything his wife did. Celts began in Northern Europe and very moved South and West. It is possible that the legend has a northern origin, but I havent heard of a story Similarly, further north than England v Ireland
