Dr. Michael in Fantastic Voyage?
I just finished reading Fantastic Journey. I have the whole history lover, but I can not completely understand what exactly Dr. Michael really wanted? He tried to sabatoge the mission, perhaps out of pride, the philosophical differences, or simply the folly of a madman, but what are the specific reasons?
We are not telling us anything about his personal motivations, just that was an agent of the other side through. However, we can definitively rule out either a fool - he seems quite rational book. My assumption is that because he was willing to die to complete his mission, he is a true believer highly motivated in his case. On this basis, "Philosophical differences" as good as any guess.
