Is there really much of American vintage cars in Cuba?

I asked a woman at work, and she said not to have had something like that in Cuba since 1959, but I saw a recent documentary on public television that suggested otherwise. There had the old 50's model Chevys, Ford, Hudson, etc. There were also many small family business, father and son, the enterprises where they were facts on metal parts and glass scarp. If this is true, how the cars get there?

They were imported before the U.S. embargo. Since they could not get the car anywhere else they are working. PBS is not alone in reporting on these cars many car mags have done as well.
